Beautiful Day

Hey guys!
Today is wonderful. It is soo beautiful outside. To start off my day my church held an Easter egg hunt at the  park and I did face painting. It was so much fun! We had a long line of kids waiting to get their face painted it was awesome!

Here are a couple of pictures from the Easter egg hunt:

This is only about half of the Easter eggs!

In a little while I will be headed back out for Easter choir practice. I am so blessed to be a part of so many amazing things! We are finally getting some nice weather in Ohio! I hope it stays...

John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
I hope that everyone has a fantastic Easter and remember that God did not send His son to judge the world, He sent His son so that the world would be saved through Him.

Good Friday

Hey there!

Today is my first day of spring break and not much is going on. But, I have a lot to say today! I finished Love Does by Bob Goff!! Super sad that I finished it! I will probably read it another time through. Today is also a very special day. Today is Good Friday! I can't even explain to you how blessed I feel today. All day long I have been thinking about the song "What Love is This" by Kari Jobe and I'm just overwhelmed. I will post the think in this post so that you can listen to it too. Well, anyways, today its actually sunny in Ohio! Yay!! And it feels amazing outside! It has been so cold here lately that 50 degrees feels like 80 degrees to me. So, I am enjoying the weather and also spring break and being able to sleep in. I am getting really excited because in less than 2 weeks I am going to see Kari Jobe and Chris Tomlin on their Burning Lights tour! I am soo excited. In case you don't know, Kari Jobe is pretty much my biggest role model. She's amazing! So, yes I am very very excited.

Here's a picture to basically sum up my day:

Here is the link to Kari Jobe's song:

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Good Friday!

Summer is on its way!

Hey it's me again!

As you should already know, I have a ton on my mind because of the snow day today! When I'm just sitting around with nothing to do, I start thinking of all kinds of ideas and adventures I could go on/do. And so I decided to make a summer bucket list. (In no specific order)

1. To go star gazing. Kind of cheesy, I know. But, I'd love to go sit on a beach and star gaze.

2. To go somewhere new. I want to engage myself in a new adventure and go some place new!

3. Have a picnic. Like the old-fashioned take a blanket to a park and eat sandwiches kind of picnic.

4. To take pictures every chance I get! This one is really important to me because I love photography and that's a new hobby I'd love to pick up on.

5. To have an all-nighter. Even if I'm just reading or watching netflix, I'd love to have just one night where I stay up all night long.

6. To spend a day on a pool float reading.

I will keep updating this and as summer arrives I will cross items off my list.

Hope everyone has had a fantastic Monday!

XoXo- Leah

Snow Day

Hey there!

Today I am snowed in! So, I decided to just stay in and write and watch netflix all day! I should probably be working on a research paper right now but I really wanted to share some of my thoughts with you!

My day has been very relaxing and quiet so far. Maybe later I will share some pictures of the snow with you. If you know me, you know that I am not a very big fan of snow but I must say that it looks beautiful! I love when the snow sticks to the trees and everything is just covered in white. But, I am definitely ready for warm weather. In less than a week, I am going to be on spring break! I can't wait to go to Tennessee with my mom! I will make sure to update you with lots of pictures and posts of our adventures.
Last year, we went to Nashville, which was probably the best trip I have ever taken! We went to the Grand Ole' Opry and we shopped. Not to mention we saw Amy Grant at the mall! How cool!
This year will be just as great. I always look forward to going on trips and seeing new things.

This is a picture of my mom and I at a studio where lots of famous singers recorded songs! So cool!

Here's a picture of us at the country music hall of fame. We had so much fun!!

And here's me, at the country music hall of fame eating lunch! They had such cute little centerpieces for the tables!

I cannot wait to share with you pictures from all of the adventures that are to come!

Why I Started a Blog

Hey guys, I'm up writing again.

Of course...haha

I just have so much to say today. But, I figured since I started a new blog that I should talk about why I started this blog.

So, you should know that I am a complete nerd when it comes to reading and writing. I'm a book worm . Yes, a book worm. And I love to journal. Anyways, awhile back I came across a few blogs that were awesome. This might sound cheesy but I honestly just love reading really inspires books or blog posts. So, I decided to start my own blog. I'm not sure if anyone actually reads this but I hope that maybe sometime someone will get that same feeling that I get when I read other blogs.
I really want to share my adventures with you and tell you about the lessons I learn. Everyday, God teaches me something new. Everyday. And I want to share those lessons with you and hopefully you can learn along with me.
Ever since I could write, I have loved to journal and just sit down and write about everything. I figured that since I love to journal so much, why not share my thoughts?

Well tonight, if any of you are feeling down, I wanted to share something with you that makes me smile every time I watch it:

"Give the world a reason to dance." Doesn't that just make you want to go out and do something awesome? It does for me.

Things I've been learning

I have really learned so much even just in the past year. I have learned so much about patience and being a good friend. But I think lately something has really been hitting me hard. I have been reading all these books/blogs that talk about being positive and being truly happy. And I've been thinking really hard about what it means to be truly happy and having a positive mindset. I feel like I get so off track sometimes and I let the smallest things put me in a bad mood. Life is way too short to waste time worrying or getting mad over things. I've learned that when things do happen, I just need to not stress over it or blame others for it. And I mean, why do we make life hard for each other when we know how hard life can be? Like the "kid president" said, "if life is a game, aren't we on the same team?" So I'm thinking of some things I need to work on.

1. First off, I need to work on being more patience and slower to anger. I feel like I sometimes let little things upset me or put me in a bad mood. I waste so much time upset over small things. Why is that? Your guess is as good as mine.

2. To just say yes. I am reading this AMAZING book called Love Does by Bob Goff and although he says a ton of great things, one thing really hit home. He said "I used to think you had to be special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes." Wow. I mean, it makes me wonder what  adventures God will put me on if I just say yes.

3. To fully engage myself in life and embrace every moment and every adventure I can. My favorite moments are the spontaneous moments where we just decide to go somewhere and we just go. I want to engage myself in those moments and even the moments when I'm not doing much. God gives us new opportunities every day. We have the decision to fully engage ourselves, or miss out. Even if it makes us slightly uncomfortable. In fact, God wants us to be uncomfortable sometimes.

4. To be the best friend I can be. This is something that is extremely important to me. I try my best to listen. Even when I don't have the best advice, I want to just listen. Bob Goff also talks about how a friend doesn't just say things, they just DO. I want to be that kind of friend.

5. Lastly, I want to keep a smile on my face even when I don't feel like smiling. This is something I struggle with all the time. I want to start being positive despite the circumstances. Even when things go wrong, I want to be able to smile and know that things will work out.

First Post On My New Blog!

Yesterday was the first day of spring. And guess what? It was 30 degrees outside! Crazy right? I might just pack up and travel to Hawaii until warm weather arrives! I am determined to stay positive despite this cold weather! I am constantly reminding myself to stay positive. Lately I have been struggling with that. But, that's when God reminds me how blessed I am. In the past year, God has brought so many amazing people into my life and I could not ask for better friends! I truly believe that everyone in my life is there for a reason and they each teach me lessons. As I described in my other blog, I am currently reading the book Love Does by Bob Goff and let me tell you, its AMAZING! Bob Goff inspires me so much! If you have not read that book, go get it! Anyways, in Love Does, he tells about getting the idea to go do something and instead of thinking about it, he just does it! I want to strive to live my life more like that. If I feel inspired to do something great, just go do it! How amazing is that? "So the next time God asks you to do something that is completely inexplicable, something you're sure is a prank because it requires a decision or courage that is way over your pay grade, something that might even save lives, say yes." I don't know about you but, that makes me want to go do something great! I mean, even do something small. I believe that small things can have a big impact.
